So sorry to take a short break from blogging-- my wife has been writing an essay on Grace and the Trinity for her MA, and then also preparing for exams! Needless to say, I have been taking every free moment to take care of the baby so she can be free to study, and of course, still manage-- barely-- to get all of my work done for the parish: what a busy time!
Now we are taking a much needed vacation! We have used Spring Break as an occasion for coming back to visit my family and friends in North Carolina. What a great trip so far! We haven't been back here since the wedding, and so it has been a great opportunity to introduce the baby to everyone, and to eat some good southern cooking! Friday night, we went to the oyster bar and had steamed oysters; Saturday night, we had Eastern North Carolina Pork BBQ, and then Sunday had a nice dinner at the Irish pub I used to work at ages ago. Today on the menu we have a little hole in the wall called "Pam's Farmhouse". It doesn't look like much from the outside (or on the inside for that matter), but when you pull up at lunch not to be able to get a seat, and notice all of the state-owned vehicles parked outside, you know you're in the right place. I can't wait!
Right, well, being back in the Bible belt has been the occasion for more than one blog idea, so be sure and check back to see what has been going on!
God bless!
